The basic method
- Flush so the bowl is at normal water level.
- Sprinkle in one tablespoon of powder, spread around the bowl.
- Close the lid and wait 20 minutes.
- Flush. Brush first if you can still see a ring.
Do this once a week and most toilets stay clean with no real scrubbing.
How much FizzClean to use
One tablespoon per toilet. It's tempting to add more for a dirty bowl, but extra powder mainly makes extra foam, and two scoops can push it up to the rim. If a stain needs more work, give it more time or a second round instead.
How long to leave it
| Situation | Wait time | Finish |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly clean | 20 minutes | Flush |
| Visible waterline ring | 1 hour | Quick brush, flush |
| Limescale or hard water stains | Overnight | Brush, flush, repeat 2 to 3 nights |
| Smelly toilet or under-rim build-up | 30 to 60 minutes | Brush under the rim, flush |
| Old rust | Overnight | Expect it to lighten, not vanish. Use a rust remover. |
The tough-stain method (limescale and rings)
Hard water stains sit right at the waterline, which is the one place the foam only touches briefly. Lowering the water fixes that.
- Turn off the water valve behind the toilet and flush. The tank won't refill, so the water level in the bowl drops below the ring.
- Sprinkle one tablespoon of FizzClean directly onto the stained areas while they are damp.
- Add a cup of warm (not boiling) water to start the foam.
- Leave it for at least an hour, or overnight.
- Brush the ring, turn the water back on and flush.
- Repeat for two or three nights on heavy scale.
Mistakes that make FizzClean look bad
- Using it once on a neglected toilet and expecting a new bowl. It is a maintenance cleaner. Old scale needs several rounds or a stronger product.
- Flushing too early. Five minutes of foam looks impressive and does very little.
- Mixing it with bleach gel or tank tablets. Unsafe, and it doesn't help.
- Dumping in too much. Wastes powder and can overflow the foam.
- Storing the pouch open in a damp bathroom. Humidity starts the reaction early and weakens it. Reseal it and keep it dry.
Using FizzClean beyond the toilet
The brand says you can mix the powder with a little water into a paste for sinks, tubs, tiles, countertops and garbage disposals, or add vinegar for extra fizz. That works on ceramic, porcelain and stainless steel. Test first on marble, granite, natural stone or coloured grout, because mild acids can dull stone.
For drains and disposals, sprinkle a spoonful, add a little warm water, let it fizz for 15 minutes, then run hot water. It deodorises well. It will not clear a real blockage.
How long does a pack last?
At one tablespoon a week per toilet, one pouch lasts most households several weeks to a few months, depending on how many toilets you have and how often you do tough-stain rounds. Two toilets and weekly cleaning is where the 3 to 5-pack bundles start to make sense.

How to use FizzClean: FAQ
How much FizzClean should I use?
About one tablespoon per toilet. Using two tablespoons can make the foam rise to the rim, and it does not clean twice as well.
How long should I leave FizzClean in the toilet?
20 minutes for weekly cleaning. For hard water rings and limescale, leave it 1 hour or overnight, then brush and flush.
How often should I use FizzClean?
Once a week. The pouch says "use once per week". Weekly use is what keeps limescale and rings from building up again.
Do I need to scrub after using FizzClean?
Usually not for light weekly cleaning. For rings, limescale or under-rim stains, a quick brush after the wait gives much better results.
Can I use FizzClean on sinks, tubs and drains?
The brand says yes: mix the powder with a little water to make a paste for sinks, tubs, tiles and garbage disposals. Test a small hidden spot first on stone, marble or coloured grout, since acids can etch natural stone.
Can I use FizzClean with a toilet tank cleaner or in-cistern block?
Avoid combining it with other cleaning chemicals, especially bleach-based tank tablets. Remove the block or wait until it is used up, and flush several times before using FizzClean.
Bottom line
One scoop, a real wait, then flush. Do it weekly. Use the lowered-water overnight method for limescale. That is how FizzClean delivers the results people buy it for.
